On a mission to make better experiences for everyone at Utas, we collect and use information about you, i.e
- Email address.
- First name and last name.
- Other data to support the running of Utas services
Your data such as your username, email and password are stored properly by our system. You have the right to change it. We can’t see your password.
The words “you” and “customer” have the same meaning.
The words “Us” and “Utas” have the same meaning.
Trust is the foundation of the Utas platform and includes trusting us to do the right thing with your information. Three core values guide us as we develop our products and services. These values will help you better understand how we think about your information and privacy.
Utas is not used for children under 13 years. The usage of Utas by children under 13 years must be under adult supervision.
YOUR INFORMATION IS YOURS
We carefully analyze what types of information we need to provide our services, and we try to limit the information which we collect to only what we need. Where possible, we delete or anonymize this information when we no longer need it.
When building and improving our products, our engineers work closely with our privacy and security teams to build with privacy in mind. In all of this work, our guiding principle is that your information belongs to you, and we aim to only use your information to your advantage.
SUBSCRIPTION AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA
Utas will use your data to offer business solutions to you via email. We are aware of the importance of respecting your trust in data. That’s why we try to keep your data safe. Utas will not sell or distribute your data to other parties.
WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION FROM OTHERS
Utas will not share, sell, rent, or exchange users to other parties. Utas allows users to connect with third-party applications such as Facebook, Zapier, Instagram, and others, but Utas will not connect you to third-party applications by providing your data without your permission. Providing information is possible unless you permit us or we are legally required to do so.
WE HELP PARTNERS MEET PRIVACY OBLIGATIONS
Many merchants and partners who use Utas does not have the benefit of a dedicated privacy team, and we need to help them fulfil their privacy obligations. To do this, we try to build our products and services so that they can be easily used in a privacy-friendly manner. We also provide detailed FAQs or documentation covering the most important privacy topics and respond to privacy-related questions we receive.
WHY WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION
We usually process your information to fulfil a contractual obligation (for example, to process your subscription payment to use the Utas platform), or where we or someone we work with needs to use your personal information for reasons related to business (for example, to provide you with a service). European law calls this reasoning “legitimate interests”. These “legitimate interests” include:
- Prevent risk and fraud
- Answer questions or provide other types of support
- Provide and improve our products and services
- Provides reporting and analytics
- Test additional features or services
- Help with marketing, advertising or other communications
We only process personal information for this “legitimate interest” after considering the potential risk to your privacy – for example, by providing clear transparency into our privacy practices, offering you control over your personal information where appropriate, limiting the information we hold, limiting what we do with your information, who we send your information to, how long we keep your information or the technical measures we use to protect your information.
One of the ways we can help merchants use Utas is by using techniques such as “machine learning” (European law calls it “automated decision making”) to help us improve the service. When we use machine learning, we: (1) still involve humans in the process (so it’s not completely automated); or (2) use machine learning in a way that has no significant privacy implications.
YOUR RIGHTS TO YOUR INFORMATION
We believe you should be able to access and control your personal information wherever you live. Depending on how you use Utas, you may have the right to request access, correct, change, delete, transfer to other service providers, restrict, or refuse certain uses of your personal information (for example, direct marketing). We will not charge you more or provide you with a different level of service if you exercise these rights.
If you purchase something from a Utas-supported shop and wish to exercise these rights to your purchase information, you need to contact the merchant with whom you are interacting directly. We are only processors on their behalf, and cannot decide how to process their information. Because of this, we can only forward your request to them so they can respond. We will of course help our traders meet this demand by providing them with the tools and by answering their questions.
Please note that if you submit a request relating to your personal information, we must confirm that it is you before we can respond. To do this, we may ask to see documentation verifying your identity, which we remove after verification.
If you wish to appoint an authorized agent to exercise your rights on your behalf, please email us from the email address we have stored for you. If you send us an email from a different email address, we are unable to determine whether the request originated from you and will not be able to accommodate your request. In your email address, please include the name and email address of your authorized agent.
If you are not happy with our response to a request, you can contact us to resolve the issue. You also have the right to contact your local data protection or privacy authority at any time.
Finally, because there is no shared understanding of what “Do Not Track” signals mean, we do not respond to these signals in any particular way.
LOCATION WE SEND INFORMATION TO YOU
We are an Indonesian and United States company, but we work with and process data about individuals around the world. To conduct business, we may send your personal information outside of your state, province or country, including to the United States. This data may be subject to the laws of the country where we transmit it. When we send your information across borders, we take steps to protect your information, and we try to only send your information to countries that have strong data protection laws. If you would like further information on where your information may be sent, please contact us.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
Our team works tirelessly to protect your information and to ensure the security and integrity of our platform. We also have independent auditors who assess the security of our data storage and systems that process financial information.
